Held on Independence Day in 2022, this camp focused on menstrual hygiene — still a topic surrounded by silence and misinformation in many of the communities MERF works in. Volunteers led open conversations about the biology, the practical management, and the myths worth letting go of, paired with the free distribution of sanitary pads and ORS sachets.
Empowerment, in MERF’s framing, runs through everything — but women’s health is its own corner of the work. A girl who understands her body, who can manage her period without fear or embarrassment, who has the supplies she needs, is a girl who doesn’t miss school. That’s where it begins.
