AIMCON 2026

In its fourth year, AIMCON enters a new chapter — formally affiliated with the Indian Resuscitation Council Federation, delivering certification that meets NMC and NABH standards, and bringing together a broader academic council than ever before.

Date · 28 June 2026

Venue · Shubharambh, Sariswa, Bettiah

Status · Registration open

The 4th National Annual Conference of the Medical Education and Research Foundation, held in association with the Indian Medical Association, Bettiah, returns to Shubharambh in Sariswa on the 28th of June, 2026. Following the format of recent editions, the day will combine a full clinical programme with an intensive hands-on resuscitation workshop — but with a significant new element.

AIMCON 2026’s resuscitation training will be conducted by MERF under the approval of the Indian Resuscitation Council Federation (IRCF), in collaboration with IMA Bettiah. The federation’s guidelines and courses fulfil the mandatory requirement of the National Medical Commission for training of all graduate and post-graduate students, and are also recognised for NABH accreditation — a meaningful upgrade for participants who need formally certified credentials.

What’s new this year

The familiar BLS and ACLS programmes have been formally re-structured as BCLS (Basic Cardiopulmonary Life Support) and CCLS (Comprehensive Cardiopulmonary Life Support), aligned with IRCF standards. The distinction matters for who should attend:

  • BCLS is for MBBS students, interns, nursing students and staff, paramedics, lab technicians, medical assistants, first responders, and even non-medical persons — teachers, office staff, the general public.
  • CCLS is for doctors, ICU and emergency department staff, experienced nurses, anaesthetists, and critical care professionals.

The IRCF brings with it endorsements from a remarkable spread of professional bodies — including the Indian College of Cardiology, Indian Society of Anaesthesiologists, Indian Society of Critical Care Medicine, Indian Academy of Paediatrics, Trained Nurses Association of India, Indian Medical Association, American Association of Physicians of Indian Origin, the European Resuscitation Council, and NTR University of Health Sciences. For a Bettiah-hosted conference, that’s quite a coalition.

The programme

The day runs from 8 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., interleaving skill stations and oration awards. Six named orations punctuate the schedule:

  • Maharshi Pracheta Oration Award: AHA 2025 updates and pearls of BCLS and CCLS in the Indian context — Dr (Prof.) Gyanendra Pal Singh, AIIMS New Delhi
  • Maharshi Valmiki Oration Award: Clinical paradigms and controversies in CCLS — Dr Rakesh Kumar, AIIMS New Delhi
  • Dr Ajay Kumar Sinha Oration Award: Cardiac resuscitation in the obstetric patient — what’s different. Dr Gunjan K Bhagwat
  • MERF Oration Award 2026: “Golden Hour” redefined — damage control resuscitation in ATLS. Dr Abhinav Kumar, JPNATC, AIIMS New Delhi
  • Dr Sushil Prasad Chaudhary Oration Award: Pearls in paediatric resuscitation — Dr Naveen, Paediatric Intensivist, Patna
  • Triveni Sangam Award: Recognising trainers of BCLS and CCLS — Mr Neeraj Kumar Swarnkar and Mr Vikram Choudhary

Between the orations, delegates will move through the core resuscitation curriculum — adult chain of survival, scene safety and assessment, chest compressions, pocket mask and bag-mask device, single- and two-rescuer adult BLS, AED operation, choking, team dynamics, and the cardiac arrest algorithm — culminating in megacode skill stations and a post-test certification.

Who’s leading it

Dr Sunny Singh continues as Organizing Chairman from last year. Dr Kumar Saurabh (GMCH Bettiah) steps in as Organizing Secretary, with Dr Rakesh Raushan as Co-Secretary and Dr Amitabh Chaudhary returning as Convener. Dr Mohanish Sinha chairs the Academic Council; Dr (Prof.) Arvind Kumar of AIIMS New Delhi serves as Academic Secretary.

The Workshop Chairmanship is held by Dr Gyanendra Pal Singh (Professor of Neuroanaesthesiology and Critical Care, AIIMS New Delhi), with Dr Rakesh Kumar and Dr Abhinav Kumar (both AIIMS New Delhi) as resource faculty. Dr Rakesh Garg, Scientific Director of the IRCF, anchors the federation’s involvement. Dr Shushil P. Chaudhary returns as Guest of Honour.

“A groundbreaking conference where care providers from all disciplines come together to exchange knowledge and insights, all aimed at enhancing patient care.”

— Welcome address, AIMCON 2026 Academic Council

Registration

Registration for the main conference is free but mandatory, and runs on a first-come-first-served basis until capacity is reached. Early-bird registration closes 15 May 2026; second-tier registration runs 1–15 June 2026; spot registration after the 16th is subject to seat availability.

The BCLS and CCLS workshop and certification course carries a separate mandatory fee of ₹1,000 and is capped by hands-on training capacity. Conference registration does not include workshop registration — these are separate, though workshop registration grants access to the conference too. Research and abstract submissions can be sent to aimcon26@gmail.com.

For coordination: Mr Amit Kumar (Chief Coordinator) at 8252097132, or Mr Prakash Singh (Travel Coordinator) at 9868397475.
